Copilot in Word 

This is a new AI-powered tool that can help professionals write, edit, summarize, and create documents. It can generate a first draft for you, add content to existing documents, and even suggest tones to help you strike the right note. Copilot can also help improve your writing with suggestions that strengthen your arguments or smooth inconsistencies. With only a brief prompt, Copilot can create a two-page project proposal, make a document more concise, or create a one-page draft based on a rough outline.

PowerPoint's Copilot 

This feature is a powerful tool that can help you create stunning presentations with ease. It can transform written documents into presentations, condense lengthy presentations, and adjust layouts and text with natural language commands. With Copilot, you can create a five-slide presentation from a Word document, consolidate presentations into a summary, and reformat text into columns with pictures.

Microsoft Excel's Copilot 

This is an AI-powered tool that helps users analyze and explore their data by answering natural language questions. It can identify correlations, suggest new formulas, and generate models based on user queries. Copilot can also create visualizations and provide recommendations to drive different outcomes. Users can try example commands and prompts such as breaking down sales by type and channel, projecting the impact of variable changes, and modeling how changes to growth rates would impact gross margins.

Microsoft's Copilot in Outlook 

This helps you manage your inbox and messages more efficiently, allowing you to spend more time communicating. It summarizes lengthy email threads with multiple people, providing different viewpoints and open questions. You can respond to emails with simple prompts or turn quick notes into professional messages, pulling from other emails or content across Microsoft 365. You can also adjust the tone or length of your note using toggles. Copilot offers example commands and prompts, such as summarizing missed emails, drafting professional responses, and inviting people to a "lunch and learn" event.

Copilot in Teams 

This is a tool that helps you run more effective meetings and conversations. It summarizes key actions, organizes discussion points, and catches you up on anything you've missed without interrupting the flow of discussion. It also helps with common tasks such as creating meeting agendas, identifying the right people for follow-ups, and scheduling the next check-in. You can use example commands and prompts to get answers to specific questions and make decisions.

Introducing Business Chat

Microsoft Viva is integrating Copilot into its platform, including Viva Engage, to provide leaders with insightful conversation starters based on sentiments and trending topics across workplace communities and conversations. Copilot will offer suggestions to help leaders draft more personalized posts, with options to add images and adjust the tone. Additionally, Copilot will enhance the Answers experience in Viva Engage by offering suggested prompts to improve the quality of questions and keep conversations going by suggesting related knowledge and experts. Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI-powered system designed for enterprise needs, built on decades of research on privacy-preserving machine learning and guided by Microsoft's AI principles and Responsible AI Standard. The system is reviewed by a multidisciplinary team to mitigate potential harms. Copilot inherits an organization's security, compliance, and privacy policies for Microsoft 365, and large language models are not trained on tenant data. The system prioritizes human agency and puts the user in control by providing links to sources, noting limitations, and prompting users to review, fact-check, and fine-tune content based on their own knowledge and judgment.
